The Egyptian Higher Institute for Management and Accounting was established under Ministerial Decree No. 1540 of 1996 in the building located at 3 Mosques Square, next to the Al-Mursi Abu al-Abbas Mosque, with the Management and Accounting divisions and the English Department. Under Ministerial Decree No. 663 of 1999, the Information Systems and Computer Science division was established.
The institute’s name was changed under Ministerial Decree No. 396 of 2000 to become the Egyptian Institute of the Alexandria Academy for Management and Accounting.
Study at the institute began with 60 male and female students, and the number continued to increase in subsequent years until it reached 4,000 students.
